Some listeners have reported that TIDAL sounds quieter after a recent update. This is likely due to TIDAL’s new volume normalisation feature, which is enabled by default in the TIDAL app.
How can I fix it?
To restore full volume when using TIDAL Connect, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect your Cambridge Audio device from TIDAL Connect.
2. Open the TIDAL app and go to:
Settings → Audio & Playback → Normalize Volume → Off
3. Reconnect your Cambridge Audio device using TIDAL Connect.
Why do I need to disconnect and reconnect?
Changes to the normalisation setting don’t apply instantly while connected. You must disconnect and reconnect for the new setting to take effect.
Disabling volume normalisation should bring TIDAL’s volume in line with your other sources.
