When using the 7-band EQ or Room Compensation features on your Network Player (AXN10/MXN10/CXN100/EXN100/Evo 75/150/Evo One), you may notice a slight drop in volume when these settings are enabled. This is entirely intentional. Technically, boosting EQ settings increases the audio signal level, which can result in clipping — a form of distortion that occurs when the signal exceeds the system’s limits. To prevent this and maintain a consistent, high-quality listening experience, a fixed volume reduction is automatically applied as soon as the EQ or Room Compensation is switched on. This reduction is consistent and does not vary depending on your individual EQ or compensation settings. We’ve implemented this approach based on extensive A/B testing with our Beta Testers to ensure optimal performance and sound quality across all listening environments.
