Not necessarily. In many cases, the unit simply hasn't completed its initial setup. To function properly, you must finish the full setup process in the StreamMagic app immediately after connecting your unit to the network, regardless of whether you're using LAN or Wi-Fi.
If you had not done this, you would notice that the network player won’t connect to the network (see screenshot below), and you would need to begin network setup mode again. Once it is connected to the network once more, you need to finish the setup in the app for it to function properly.
Important: Complete Setup in the StreamMagic App
Once your device is connected to the network, you must:
1. Open the StreamMagic app on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Select your device when prompted.
3. Complete the setup process in the app, which includes:
- Naming your device
- Selecting your standby mode
- Authorising GoogleCast (if desired)
Do not use the front panel controls or turn off the unit before completing this setup.
Pressing the (i) button before completing the setup in the app will disconnect the device from the network.
If the initial setup isn’t completed properly, you will need to repeat the network setup process.
How to Reconnect Your Network Player.
For CXN100, EXN100, Evo One, Evo 75/150 and similar models with an “i” button:
Press and hold the “i” button on the front panel.
1. Press and hold the “i” button on the front panel until the info screen is shown.
2. Follow the instructions on the info screen for ''Network setup mode'.
3. Use the StreamMagic app to connect your product to the network
4. Once connected, use the StreamMagic app to complete the setup steps as above.
For AXN10 or MXN10 (no “i” button):
1. Unplug the power cord from the unit.
2. Press and hold the power button.
3. While holding it, plug the power cord back in.
4. This performs a factory reset and enables network setup mode.
5. Once reconnected, open the StreamMagic app and finish the setup.
Many connection issues reported are due to incomplete setup, not hardware faults. Completing the app-based configuration is essential for proper operation and successful network reconnection.
If you're unsure whether the setup is complete, simply open the StreamMagic app — it should prompt you to finish the configuration if needed.
