1. Ensure that the audio settings on your TV are set to PCM or Stereo
The EXN100 has an HDMI eARC input to allow you to create a connection to a TV that supports the ARC/eARC function.
There will be no sound from the EXN100 if the audio settings on your TV are set to output Dolby Digital or a Surround signal. This is because the EXN100 only supports a 2-channel PCM signal.
If certain TV apps, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, are not producing any audio, then you may also need to change the audio settings within these apps to PCM or Stereo.
2. Make sure the HDMI cable has been connected to an ARC/eARC HDMI port on your TV
Not all TV HDMI sockets will support ARC/eARC, most TVs will only contain one ARC/eARC socket, or in some cases, two.
3. Ensure the 'TV (eARC)' source has been selected on the EXN100
4. Make sure the relevant external sound system is enabled on your TV's settings menu
The above image is an example of a Philips TV running an Android system.
In this case, 'EasyLink' is the name used by Philips to indicate HDMI CEC. If this setting is not 'EasyLink autostart', then the EXN100 or any other HDMI ARC/eARC device will not receive audio.
Similar settings may be found with other brands and models of TVs as well, but with alternative naming.
We would recommend checking the manual of your TV or contacting the manufacturer of your TV for more information on this.
