Make sure your firmware is up to date
Updating the BT100 firmware fixes issues when playing Bluetooth audio from some aptX-enabled devices.
This affects some(but not all) BT100 units.
Please note: this upgrade can only be carried out on a Windows computer.
How-to guide
1. Uninstall the previous version of the app installed on your PC
WINDOWS 7/8
Go to the Control Panel → click on 'Programs and Features’ → double click on any installed instance of ‘BT100 Update’.
WINDOWS XP
Go to the Control Panel → click on 'Add and Remove Programs’ → double click on any installed instance of ‘BT100 Update’.
2. Download the installer folder from the Cambridge Audio website
The link "BT100 Update v.2.3.zip" can be found at the bottom of this page.
Make sure you unzip the installer to a known location on your hard drive.
3. Install the BT100 Update application
1.
Double-click on the "setup.exe" file.
2.
Follow the prompts and click finish once the installation is complete.
4. Make sure the BT100 is not connected to your computer
5. Install the update driver on your computer
Go to Start->Cambridge Audio->Drivers.
Depending on whether your version of Windows is 32 or 64-bit choose the respective version. The installation is silent and will not notify on completion.
6. Insert your BT100 into a free USB port of your PC
Wait for the USB audio driver installation to complete.
7. Hold down the pairing button on the BT100 for 10 seconds
This will place the dongle in upgrade mode.
Windows should now automatically use the driver you installed in step 4.
If you are unsure, the dongle should appear in ‘Device Manager’ as ‘CSR BlueCore in DFU Mode’.
8. Run the update utility
1.
Go to your PC Start → Cambridge Audio → BT100Update.
2.
An on-screen prompt will notify “UPGRADE SUCCESSFUL!” on completion.
Note:
- The upgrade utility first checks if the upgrade is necessary. The utility will display "No Upgrade required" if your BT100 is already up to date.
- After the upgrade, the BT100 will have forgotten its previous pairings and will need to be repaired with your source devices.
We recommend you delete the original BT100 pairing from your source devices.
