The EVO 75 and EVO 150 offer an array of connection options, to ensure that you're able to make the most of your devices and create a central audio outlet within your home set-up.
IMPORTANT: It is essential that any additional sources you wish to use with your EVO, are added via the StreamMagic app. For example, if you wish to use a TV via the TV ARC connection, within the StreamMagic app under 'Sources', please add 'TV ARC'.
CONNECTING EVO TO A TV
The recommended way of connecting your EVO to your TV is by using the dedicated TV ARC (Audio Return Channel) on your unit.
Using an HDMI cable, connect one end of the cable to the HDMI Output on your TV, and connect this to the TV ARC Input on your EVO unit.
For some models of television, you may be required to switch your TV's output from the built-in speakers to the EVO (ARC), this is usually found within your TV's audio settings. Once this has been carried out, the TV should use the EVO as your default output device as long as the EVO is switched on, and on TV source.
The recommended method of switching audio back to your TV speakers from an ARC connection is to either switch the EVO to standby or switch the EVO to a different source. Either of these actions should return audio to the TV speakers automatically.
IMPORTANT: Please note that you may also connect a TV to the EVO using a TOSLINK Optical connection, however, this method is not recommended due to inconsistent sample rates on certain models of television, meaning compatibility cannot always be guaranteed.
CONNECTING EVO TO A GAMES CONSOLE
Using an HDMI cable connect the Games Console to the TV, and then using a second HDMI cable, connect one end of the cable to the HDMI Output on the TV, and connect this to the TV ARC Input on your EVO unit.
CONNECTING EVO TO A DVD OR BLU-RAY PLAYER
Using a HDMI cable connect the DVD or Blu-Ray Player to the TV, and then using a second HDMI cable, connect one end of the cable to the HDMI Output on the TV, and connect this to the TV ARC Input on your EVO unit.
CONNECTING EVO TO A TURNTABLE WIRED CONNECTION
Depending on whether the turntable is using a Moving Magnet (MM) or Moving Coil (MC) cartridge, will determine the connection option you should use when connecting a turntable to your EVO.
For a Moving Magnet (MM) Turntable:
Using an RCA phono cable, connect one end of the cable to the RCA Phono Output on the Turntable, and connect this to the MM Phono Input on your EVO unit.
For a Moving Coil (MC) Turntable:
Using an RCA phono cable, connect the Turntable to a Moving Coil pre-amplifier. Using a second RCA phono cable, connect the Moving Coil pre-amplifier to the Auxiliary Input on your EVO unit.
IMPORTANT: Please note that some turntables may require an additional grounding connection from the turntable to the EVO. If this is the case, please do so by using the 'Ground' terminal on your EVO unit.
CONNECTING EVO TO A BLUETOOTH SOURCE
The 'Bluetooth source allows your EVO unit to receive wireless Bluetooth audio from most phones, tablets, laptops, and turntables such as the Alva TT.
Pairing
To begin streaming music from your Bluetooth it will first need to be paired with your player.
- Select the Bluetooth source on your EVO.
- Activate Bluetooth pairing mode on your device, and select the EVO from the Bluetooth device list if necessary.
