There is a loud buzz or hum

  Try the following solutions: 

1. Check that the ground lead (if present) is securely connected to both the turntable and Alva Duo.
2. Ensure that all interconnects are secure and intact.
3. Check that your turntable is not too close to your amplifier.
4. If possible, check whether the hum is present with the Duo removed.
