Cambridge Audio products are engineered and constructed for continual high performance in normal domestic settings. If a Cambridge Audio machine is used in the way it is intended, and it breaks down within the warranty period, it's our responsibility to repair or replace it.
There are, however, some circumstances in which a Cambridge Audio warranty doesn't cover the repair or replacement of a product. These aren't hidden in the small print. Here's what isn't covered:
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY?
This Warranty does not apply to any non-Cambridge Audio branded hardware products, even if packaged or sold with Cambridge Audio hardware. Cambridge Audio does not warrant that the operation of the Cambridge Audio Product will be uninterrupted or error-free. Cambridge Audio is not responsible for damage arising from failure to follow instructions relating to the Cambridge Audio Product’s use.
This Warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (c) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, fire, earthquake or other external cause; (d) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Cambridge Audio or an Cambridge Audio Authorized Service Provider; ; (e) to damage from external sources such as transit, weather, electrical outages or power surges; (f) to damage as a result of use not in accordance with the product’s power rating; (g) to an Cambridge Audio Product that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Cambridge Audio; (h) to damage caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Cambridge Audio Product, (i) if any serial number has been removed or defaced from the Cambridge Audio Product, or (j) if Cambridge Audio receives information from relevant public authorities that the product has been stolen and you cannot prove in any way that you are the authorized user of the product (e.g., by presenting proof of purchase).
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION
Cambridge Audio may restrict warranty service for hardware products to the country where Cambridge Audio or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Before receiving warranty service, Cambridge Audio or its agents may require that you furnish proof of purchase details, respond to questions designed to assist with diagnosing potential issues and follow Cambridge Audio's procedures for obtaining warranty service.
Important: Do not attempt to open the Cambridge Audio Product. Opening the Cambridge Audio Product may cause damage that is not covered by this Warranty. Only Cambridge Audio or a Cambridge Audio Authorized Service Provider should perform service on this Cambridge Audio Product.
WHAT WILL CAMBRIDGE AUDIO DO IN THE EVENT THE WARRANTY IS BREACHED?
If during the Warranty Period, you submit a claim to Cambridge Audio or a Cambridge Audio Authorized Service Provider in accordance with this warranty, Cambridge Audio will, at its option:
(i) repair the Cambridge Audio Product using new or previously used Cambridge Audio genuine parts that have been tested and passed Cambridge Audio functional requirements,
(ii) replace the Cambridge Audio Product with a replacement product of the same model (or with your consent a product that has the same or substantially similar features as the original product – e.g., a different model with the same features, or the same model in a different colour) that is new or comprised of new and/or previously used Cambridge Audio genuine parts and has been tested and passed Cambridge Audio functional requirements, or
(iii) exchange the Cambridge Audio Product for a refund of your purchase price.
Cambridge Audio may request that you replace certain user-installable parts or Cambridge Audio Products. A replacement part or Cambridge Audio Product, including a user-installable part that has been installed in accordance with instructions provided by Cambridge Audio, assumes the remaining term of the Warranty or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a Cambridge Audio Product or part is replaced or a refund is provided, any replacement item becomes your property, and the replaced or refunded item becomes Cambridge Audio's property.
