If your DAC MAGIC 100 was manufactured before 2014, you may need to update the firmware of the device with our latest driver.
To identify if your unit requires an update, please take note of the item's serial number.
This is available on the bottom or back of the device and is formatted like the example below.
MC C10500 1201 0659
The third string of numbers (underlined in the example above) represent your item's date code.
In this case, the date code is 1201 or 12/01.
This means the item was manufactured in January of 2012 and will most likely require the firmware update.
If you haven't already - you will need to download and install the windows USB Audio Class 2 driver to your windows computer. Instructions for this can be found at the link below;

Using this Driver Tool, you will now confirm if the DAC MAGIC 100 requires the update.
Please check the USB firmware Revision in the Info tab of the CA Control
Panel of the driver. It needs to be running firmware Revision v3.26.
If it is running an earlier revision, as in the example below, then your device requires an update.
If you do need to update this, please see the steps below.

Place this binary file to a known location on your PC, such as the Desktop. - Make sure the device is in USB Audio Class 2 mode, switched on, and connected to your computer.

Run the TUSBAudioDfu.exe file - Browse to the .bin upgrade file that you downloaded.
Click on start.
When the upgrade is complete click Exit. - Open the Cambridge Audio Control Panel by clicking on the icon in the task
tray.
Check that the Current Firmware is now v3.26 - The update is now complete!
You are now ready to use your Cambridge Audio USB DAC with the latest Windows USB Audio Class 2 driver.
