First steps:
- Make sure any previous pairings with the CXA are removed/deleted from both Mac device and mobile devices.
- Factory reset the CXA but instead of powering up from standby after the reset is complete, disconnect from power for around 30 seconds then power up from standby.
Pairing:
- Select Bluetooth input on CXA.
- Open Bluetooth settings on Mac, CXA should appear as an available speaker/device.
- Click on ‘Connect’
- Test by playing a track from a preferred source/music app.
- Pause Music playback on Mac, open Bluetooth settings and disconnect from CXA.
(It may also be worthwhile switching off Bluetooth briefly on the Mac before attempting to pair with the mobile device.) - Using the mobile devices settings, search for and pair with CXA (you can then enable Mac Bluetooth again)
- Play a track from the preferred source
Switching between devices.
(‘Best Practice Guide’)
If following the steps above, the mobile device should still be connected.
- Pause music playback, then disconnect from CXA
- On Mac, go to Bluetooth settings and connect to CXA
- Once again, play music from the preferred source to test
- Go to Bluetooth settings and disconnect from CXA
- On a mobile device connect to CXA
- Play the track from the preferred source
The main point to consider for maintaining connection and switching between devices is to disconnect the Bluetooth connection to the CXA from whatever device you are using before attempting to reconnect with the other.
