Step 1. Charge new earphones for 30 minutes before pairing.
Step 2. Take the earphones out of the charging case.
If your Melomania 1+ earphones have not previously been paired, or you have reset them, they should automatically be ready to pair. The correct state for pairing is: the LED on one earphone flashing blue and white alternately, and the other earphone’s LED flashing white. They must be in this state to pair successfully.
If they do not automatically go into the correct pairing state, try putting them back in the charging case for a few seconds and then taking them out again.
If they have never been paired but do not go into the pairing state automatically, or if they have previously been paired with another device, then you must put them in pairing mode manually:
If the LED is unlit, then the earphone is OFF. Touch the control surface for about 2 seconds until the voice prompt says ‘power on’ and the LED flashes white. Both earphones must be powered ON.
If both earphones’ LEDs are flashing white, then neither of them are waiting to pair. Touch the control surface on ONE earphone, it doesn’t matter which one, for about 3 seconds until the voice prompt says ‘waiting to pair’ and the LED flashes blue and white alternately. One earphone must be waiting to pair.
Step 3. Go to Settings and select Bluetooth.
Step 4. Turn ON Bluetooth if it is OFF.
Step 5. Select Melomania 1+ from the DEVICES list
You will see either Melomania 1+ L or Melomania 1+ R in the DEVICES list, select this. If you have manually enabled both earphones for pairing you will see them both in the DEVICES list, this is fine, just select either one of them.
Once selected you will hear the “Melomania Connected” voice prompt, Melomania 1+ L (or R) Connected at the top of the screen and the LED on the selected (primary) earphone will stop flashing blue and white, and will flash white only.
Step 6. Accept pairing request from the secondary earphone.
Soon after pairing the primary earphone, you will see a pop-up message requesting to pair the secondary earphone, press ‘Pair’. You will hear the ‘Melomania Paired’ voice prompt and the LED on the secondary earphone will flash white.
You may see that in the pairing request message, the secondary earphone is called Headset, this is normal, continue by pressing ‘Pair’.
Step 7. Your Melomania 1+ earphones are now connected.
Once both earphones are correctly paired, you will see that the primary Melomania 1+ (L in the example below) is shown as Connected and the secondary earphone (R in the example below) is shown as Not Connected.
In Bluetooth Settings, the secondary earphones' Bluetooth Device Name may be shown as ‘Headset’, this is not unusual and is fine, do not try to reconnect it or edit the name.
You may see a second connection to the primary earphone (Melomania 1+ R in the example below), this will not have the 'i' symbol. This is showing a data link, used by the Melomania App, to your earphones in addition to the audio link. This is normal, do not try to disconnect it.
Troubleshooting
If you get a ‘Connection Unsuccessful’ message after accepting the Request to Pair the secondary earphone, the pairing is, in fact, usually successful. If the primary is not connected (like the screenshot on the left) then you can connect either earphone as the primary in Bluetooth Settings on your phone.
If Pairing is not successful and you need to start again
1.) In the Bluetooth Settings My Devices list, press the 'i' next to the connected Melomania device.
2.) Select ‘Forget This Device’.
3.) Press ‘Forget Device’.
4.) Repeat to forget the other earphone.
5.) Continue with manual pairing from Step 2.
